Greetings and a belated Happy Thanksgiving to all! What are you thankful for this year? It’s a common topic on Thanksgiving and nearly everyone has an answer. As the weather turns cooler, colder and more windy, staying warm and comfortable (and safe) is something for which to be thankful and grateful.
It’s always enjoyable to try, test and review new Buff products from headwear to armsleeves. The quality is outstanding and the brand is very reliable.
We all need quality hats, masks, scarves, hoods, and hand warmers. The amazing thing is that the Buff ecostretch can serve in all of these capacities and more. There are basically 12 ways to wear it from headband, neckerchief, full mask, half mask, etc.
It’s difficult to stay warm on the trails and roads as the winds shift, especially the north wind, and we all need to be prepared to protect ourselves from the weather. We need a shield or two sometimes. And the sun can be intense too. Buff Ecostretch has UPF 50, excellent protection from the sun. It’s very lightweight, easy to stretch, maneuver and move into place where we want it to stay.
And it’s made of 2 recycled water bottles! Can you believe that? So it’s environmentally responsible.
The Ecostretch performs very well as a headband, scarf, balaclava, mask, and hand warmer. It layers well with other buffs or layers you may be wearing. It blocks at least some of the dust and smoke that we encounter on the trails and roads. I noticed that I felt stronger and more confident wearing this Buff Ecostretch. It helped me with improving my breathing and VO2max (as an asthmatic this is very important) on my runs and walks, especially when I used it to cover my mouth/nose occasionally as a mask.
I was amazed when testing it as a balaclava (especially) how much warmer it made my head and ears feel. It increases the comfort level to the point that we can move and run more optimally.
It’s very easy to wash and clean, I wash mine in a washer zipped bag. It dries very quickly since it is lightweight. And when we travel, it’s a perfect companion as it folds and rolls easily. I made sure to take it out of town and it performed well on the trails outside of Lincoln too. Tested it on Cowboy Trail in Norfolk in rainy weather. The buff kept me dry.
The performance in the wind is impressive. It is indeed wind-resistant yet breathable (without our glasses/sunglasses fogging over too, an extra bonus).
One interesting aspect of using this particular Buff is that it makes us feel more comfortable so we are able to run stronger and longer. The EcoStretch does seem to stretch those runs and walks for us. And we all need more activity in the autumn and winter months. It has year-round versatility with its lightweight nature. Performs very well, especially in cool weather. It wicks sweat well and that is very helpful.
If you like the color and style of the one I’m wearing, it’s original halcyon turquoise. An awesome blue style.
It’s a wonderful essential piece of running gear. A must-have level of multifunctional headwear. Very versatile and impressive in all respects. Thanks so much to BuffUSA and BibRave for allowing me to test, try and review it! Enjoyed it very much!
