Happy healthy Friday! Hope you have had a wonderful Christmas holiday with the New Years’ holiday rapidly approaching. Have you been stretching lately? Are your muscles and joints sore? Let’s review the Medi-Dyne StretchRite product. As a Medi-Dyne ambassador, I was given a free StretchRite product to test and review for the past 2 months.

The StretchRite looks familiar, I think I’ve seen others use these in the past. The product comes with two handy flexible handgrips and a diagram with at least 20 stretches you can do. During the testing, I focused the stretches primarily on “hot spots” or trouble areas and branched out from there. For example, my calves, back, shoulders, ankle, and other leg muscles flared up during the testing. The notches on both sides help guide us into doing some progressive stretches, working from one notch to 6 after 6 weeks of testing (that’s the suggested progression to full flexibility).

At first it was a little awkward trying to stretch a few moves I hadn’t tried before or not in a long time. But after a while, it went better. I found that the StretchRite did seem to relieve pain/muscle soreness and allow trouble spots to heal over time. It’s very helpful to have a chart of which streches are best for which sports (for example, aerobics is all 20-for running, it is 8 of the first 10 stretches).

With cold weather, I noticed that my calves would cramp up a little more. So we tried the StretchRite to help. And it did relieve the pain. I found similar relief with stretching my glute muscles (stretch #8) and that area has plagued me almost all year so it is good to find something that helps relieve the pain naturally and allow it to heal. Also, the tightness/soreness that accompanied the pain dissipated when I used the StretchRite with all these stretches that I tried.

Even my shoulders were flaring up. So we tried the shoulders stretches. It’s a little challenging that some of them involve hanging the StretchRite over the door (just make sure it is secure before stretching). But it did relieve pain in the shoulders too.

Overall, it’s an impressive product that I highly recommend. It was very helpful with recovery after running a half-marathon during the testing period. I found that my hot spots were limited to healing within a few days as long as I was consistent in using the StretchRite.

The directions are very helpful and so are the diagrams to assist us. It is ergonomically designed to make it easy to handle and adjust if needed. We all need healthy outlets and means of relieving pain naturally and preventing injuries. The StretchRite did seem to speed my recovery from daily running and some very intense workouts.

As we age, we tend to lose flexibility? Why? Because we don’t stretch enough, especially after running/workouts. I found that just seeing the StretchRite product reminded me to stretch even if I only have 2 minutes I can do 4X:30 stretches. Injury prevention is really important as injuries have become so common and this product is a great way to prevent injuries.
