‘Twas the night before the Golden Gate Half Marathon
~actually and virtually~and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring
Not even my spouse.
The running shoes and gears were all arranged with care,
For runners must train, plan, and decide what on earth to wear.
Excited to see where the virtual path will take me
and wondering how to find a square of (dark) chocolate called Ghirardelli.
The Golden Gate half path in San Fran
Covers the Golden Gate Bridge
For me here in Lincoln, I’ll run through the Ridge.
We wait now as dwindling hours now fade,
All the training is done, so runners now pray
For good and healthy footsteps and memories sure
Whether actual or virtual, these moments will endure.
Must go now to bed soon, we all will await
And glide through through our dreams with a fine natural gait.
If you still wish to register, they are still taking names,
We can run social together, in person and virtual, with fun running games.
Gliding gently into the Golden Gate Half,
We remember to smile, enjoy it, treasure memories, and laugh.
Goodnight my dear friends and my family too,
Thank you for your love, support and hearty kudos to you are due.
