Today I ran a half-marathon, I’m slowly ramping up my running distance step by step. The important thing with running is to keep climbing no matter what. Obstacles and difficulties will surface from bad weather to running injuries to not feeling like running. But it’s a daily battle and we all have them. If you stick with it and are consistent, you will see AMAZING results with your running:) We can’t always take large steps with advancing our running mileage (sometimes we can, though) but sometimes smaller steps produce longer gains and longer-term results. I’m on a tear with this running streak, this is my 11th day in a row (6th day of the official #RWRUNSTREAK). My competitive fire with running is really returning and I’m struggling with what to do when I’m lying in bed at midnight and just feeling a very intense, strong, even obsessive compulsion to run right then and there at a very inconvenient time. My answer to that so far is to close my eyes, relax and dream about running (it’s not the same as the real thing. My leg strength seems to be returning after my marathon last month and I was amazed at how free I felt running, free from all the stress of everyday life. I was also excited to see about 50 ducks, mostly in the same location. I tried not to scare them off but I failed, I probably looked to predatory (actually I was just in a hurry to get back to running whilst still hoping to catch said ducks on camera).
Here is my sanctuary trail I love to run on, like being in a tree cave:
And of course with every run, you have to have an official “rest area”:
Here’s the “rest of the rest area”:
That wraps it up for this blog post. Remember: RAMP UP, KEEP CLIMBING! Set your goals high and reach for the stars! You will get there! BELIEVE IT and ACHIEVE IT! With running love, Jeremy
