Fit2Feast challenge

Fit2Feast challenge

Checking in with my November workout challenge, a lighter one for athletic folks who like to eat.  I found this website called “SparkPeople” (see www.sparkpeople.com)  that challenged us to do 10 minutes or more of exercise for the whole month of November, entitling you to feast on Thanksgiving Day. Interesting, you “earn” your feast.  I did a double take.  Just 10 minutes minimum? This didn’t sound too hard until I started thinking of all my recent excuses to not workout: no time/too busy, too tired, too much happening at once, bad weather, ridiculous winds, darkness. So I decided to do it. (Okay, so one day of the challenge I only raked leaves. That was my whole workout.) On Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, & Google+ we are using the hashtag #Fit2Feast to keep track of each other’s workouts and accountability for reaching your goal of going all month with 10 minutes or more per day for each day of November, including Thanksgiving, of course. I’m finding the 10 minutes threshold does create a little consistency on days I would be inclined to rest and do no physical activity.

Had a great run yesterday-ran 1/2 marathon in 2:01 (race pace). I think this was the fastest half of the year and I don’t know why, just felt really relaxed, no pressure. We had some gorgeous weather yesterday and I was just loving my run. Do you love your runs?

Today I only walked for 1/2 hour-no running.  But that’s o.k. because I’m doing a little bit every day.  It’s like that title line in the Chicago song “Feelin’ Stronger Every Day”.
