One of the most powerful lessons I have learned in my life is: We must stop and smell the roses and enjoy the little special moments in life. These little special moments pass too quickly and over time, we realize that the little things are sometimes larger and more consequential than we think. Treasure each moment. Soon I’ll be telling the story of learning this at the New York City Marathon in 2005.

The rose is from Cecilia’s dance teacher from her dance performance last weekend.

Here’s a brief Periscope on enjoying the ducks and geese where I refer to this rule. We all need to press pause sometimes. Doing so helps us elevate our mindful awareness of where we are in life and where we are going. It also feeds our souls in powerful ways.

So stop…and smell the roses before the roses vanish and fade from our view. Little things can truly mean a lot.
