Are these gnomes ignominious?

Are these gnomes ignominious?

RunChatHunt, the exciting scavenger hunt sponsored by RunChat on Twitter (and others), ends today. What has this scavenger hunt done for me? It’s made me more aware of my surroundings, causing me to search for difficult (nearly impossible) items such as the gnomes. It’s difficult to know sometimes when to submit your best photo in a category. For example, I should have waited on the body of water entry to use the Hyannis, MA harbor (with boats/ships) last weekend instead of a water body on Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, where I run normally.

The items we were assigned to try to find were: body of water, statue, sunrise or sunset, something unique to your city/town, race/running sticker on vehicle, American flag (or your country), selfie with another runner, empty beer/soda can, garden gnome, and home under construction. If you win, you can win free prizes, including entries to running races.

Some amazing, surprising photos. Here is a sampling of some of my favorites:

First one is triceratops statue from Branson, Missouri putt-putt golf course.

Perhaps my very favorite ones are from today:

What did you find on RunChatHunt? What did you not find? I seemed to find more items that could not fit in some of these categories. Most runners seemed to think the gnomes were the hardest to locate this year. One house two houses down from us had a giant gnome by their front door but it just seemed wrong to use that one because we were asked not to invade anyone’s privacy (too close to the house).

Waiting patiently for tomorrow. Perhaps I won a free exciting prize? Time will tell.
